Four budding farmers have just wrapped up their year in the Gateway to Small Scale Farming Training Pilot Program – and what a year it’s been!

From planting seeds to harvesting crops and selling their own fresh produce, these next generation farmers have dug deep, learned the ropes, and are now taking their next steps in the world of market gardening.

Whether it’s starting their own veggie patches or joining established farms, all four graduates are continuing their farming adventures, proving that small-scale, sustainable agriculture is alive and thriving on the Peninsula.

With Urban Agriculture Month here, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the power of local farming.

This program has shown how passion, dedication, and a bit of dirt under your nails can tackle big challenges like food security while building meaningful careers in farming.

Curious to see their journey in action? Watch the video to meet these incredible young farmers and see how the program has helped them grow. It’s a story of resilience, community, and a brighter future for farming on the Peninsula.

Let’s keep growing together!
