Raising tiny humans, together

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating mums - and the whole village it takes to raise a child.
Our Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Service is at the heart of this support.
From the very first newborn visit to the important toddler milestones, our experienced nurses walk beside local families every step of the way – checking in on children’s development, offering expert parenting advice, and being that steady, reassuring voice when you need it most.
Watch our latest video below to hear from one of our incredible MCH nurses about the difference these services make.
But the Shire’s support doesn’t stop there. Because when we invest in children, we invest in our whole community.
Struggling with breastfeeding? Our free lactation support is here to help.
Thinking about kindergarten? We help prepare little learners through quality, play-based programs.
Sleep-deprived? Our free parenting education sessions cover sleep, nutrition, behaviour, and more.
Looking for connection and fun? From smalltalk supported playgroups and storytimes to toy libraries and arts and crafts – we’re making childhood count.
To every mum, guardian and carer - thank you! We see you, we appreciate you, and we’re cheering you on.
