Last year, we asked the Dromana and Safety Beach community about how they use Shire facilities in their area.

Both residents and user groups were forthcoming with information, including ideas on things we can do to support better access to community facilities. Feedback we received touched on:

  • Improving wayfinding and naming of buildings

  • Increasing activation of some buildings

  • Improving the usability of the booking system

  • Developing a directory of available community facilities and spaces

  • Improving maintenance response and processes.

Residents and user groups echoed a previous recommendation to build a new multi-purpose hub in the centre of Dromana. To progress the development of a community hub, we will engage with stakeholders to develop a functional brief and concept design.
