Celebrating young change makers at Youth Recognition Awards

Mornington Peninsula Shire is set to honour its most inspiring young change-makers at the upcoming Youth Recognition Awards, an innovative event that celebrates young people creating meaningful impact across the region.
Organised by the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) at Tounnin Wominjeka Youth Hub, the awards recognise 10–25-year-olds who are making a real difference in their community through seven unique categories, including Environmental Warriors, Young Leaders, and Inclusivity Agents.
The awards feature seven distinctive categories that reflect the diverse ways young people contribute to community wellbeing:
- Environmental Warriors Making our world greener and healthier
- Young Leaders Inspiring and guiding their peers
- Unsung Heroes Quietly transforming communities
- Community Contributors Giving their time and skills to help others
- The Arts Using creativity to make a difference
- Kind Hearts Spreading compassion and empathy
- Inclusivity Agents Breaking down barriers and building understanding
Community members are encouraged to nominate young individuals who have made a positive difference, even if they don't typically receive traditional recognition.
Nomination and event information
Nominations are now open. Community members can complete the online form to nominate young change-makers.
The awards ceremony is free to attend and will include refreshments.
