As part of the Beating Buruli in Victoria project, a mosquito control study is being planned for parts of the Mornington Peninsula later this year. The study will involve mosquito surveillance, mosquito trapping and mosquito control activities. Fogging will only be used if absolutely necessary and may not be required at all.
Emerging and established artists, writers, musicians and creatives are invited to apply for an Artist Residency in the Gatekeepers Cottage at Police Point Shire Park, Portsea, from January 2020 to December 2022. Expressions of interest are now open for supported and fee-paying residencies ranging from 2–6 weeks.
Federal Member for Flinders, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP, joined with members of the Mornington Peninsula Shire to sign off on $1.5 million in Morrison Government funding for the Shire’s Youth Services Hub in Rosebud.

Mornington Peninsula Shire will again showcase the work of Aboriginal artists during the annual NAIDOC week exhibition at the Shire offices in Hastings.NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Community Grants program applications will be open from Monday 8 July to Friday 16 August.
In a recent media release, titled ‘Tyabb Airshow 2020 Can’t Get Off the Ground’, the Peninsula Aero Club (PAC) stated wrongly ‘the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has informed PAC that they will not be supporting a permit application to run the Air show in 2020’.
