Did you know volunteers across the Peninsula help maintain and protect our foreshores and bushlands reserves? Our bushland and foreshores need our love and attention. Currently, we have more than 60 groups of volunteers across the Peninsula. These friends groups help look after and maintain our land – they are absolutely vital for our natural environments.
Mornington Peninsula Shire is proudly supporting Anzac Day services at 12 local townships on Sunday 25 April 2021.
Over the last few months, the Yawa Aquatic Centre build has made steady progress and works are nearing completion inside the building. All pools have been filled, as well as the pool surroundings (concourse) and pool tiling completed.
Works have started on rebuilding the rock revetment on the Safety Beach foreshore near the sailing club.The Bay Trail has been diverted around the work site, with a temporary fence maintaining pedestrian access and safety. Heavy machinery will be at the location for the next Grants range from $1,000 – $5,000 and money must be used for activities aligned with the Single-use Plastics Policy.

Mornington Peninsula libraries are set to become even easier to access with a major upgrade to our online system. The new system will have many features our customers have requested and includes a new app that will put the library onto your smartphone and will even store your library card.
After receiving feedback last year from the community, Mornington Peninsula Shire has updated the concept plans for the Rye foreshore redevelopment as part of the $6.5 million Rye Township Plan.
