The Mornington Peninsula Shire Council last Thursday hosted a special dinner for local Fire Brigades at the Safety Beach Sailing Club with the Victorian Emergency Management Commissioner, Andrew Crisp, as guest speaker.

Cr. Bryan Payne, Mayor of Mornington Peninsula Shire Council said the meeting provided an opportunity for Councillors and staff involved in Fire Prevention to meet in the lead up to this year’s fire season.

Cr. Payne said, “The efforts and commitment of all emergency service personnel involved in protecting our community is extremely important in providing a safe environment across the Mornington Peninsula.

“Council is urging all residents to make themselves aware of all of the emergency services information via the Council’s website and ensure their properties are cleared of fire hazards as a preventative measure for the upcoming summer months.”
