Keeping backyard chooks
Chooks not only make great pets, they are also great composters and give us delicious eggs as a reward!
Come along to this fun and interactive workshop and learn how to create a healthy, happy chooktopia of your own. The workshop will cover health, nutrition, housing, protection from predators and pests, as well as the sustainability and circular economy benefits of keeping these delightful animals.
The session will also cover local law considerations and guidelines to help you plan out a productive chook yard.
Saturday 2 October, 10.30am -12pm
Cost: $20 pp
Active hope for environmentalists
Are you feeling drained from advocating for climate action, conservation or environmental justice?
Adjunct Professor Susan Burke will work through what active hope is, how you can maintain psychological wellness and suggest ways you can help regain your strength and motivation and continue to embrace the causes you feel passionate about.
Monday 11 October 7.30 – 8.45pm
Free of charge
