Tyabb’s much-loved Air Show will go ahead next year as planned.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Council CEO John Baker and Peninsula Aero Club President Jack Vevers have vowed to work together to ensure the 2020 event will go ahead.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Council Mayor David Gill welcomed the breakthrough.
“I’m thrilled the Shire and the Aero Club have been able to work constructively to find a resolution.”
“The Shire has been a long-term supporter of the Air Show, which draws thousands of visitors to the Peninsula.”
The decision to go ahead with the Air Show was also welcomed by Watson Ward Councillor Julie Morris.
“Our support for the Air Show was never in question, it is an iconic event that we always wanted to see succeed.”
“It’s a win-win situation for both the Shire and the Aero Club,” she said. “And the ultimate winners will be the local community groups who benefit from funds raised by the event.”
Peninsula Aero Club President Jack Vevers said he was pleased that the Club had been able to work with the Shire to clear the way forward.
“It’s a win for the local charities, aviation enthusiasts and for the Peninsula.”
