Mornington Peninsula Shire is pleased to invite residents to dispose of green waste at no cost during our ‘No Charge’ Green Waste event from Saturday 6 – Monday 8 November.

The ‘No Charge’ Green Waste event is for Shire residents or ratepayers only, with green waste to be delivered only from residential vehicles and trailers.

These events are popular with residents and delays should be expected, especially in the morning and at the end of the day.

Remember:

  • To bring proof of residency (for example driver’s license, rates notice)

  • Green waste includes all types of garden waste and untreated timber

  • Mornington can only accept up to three cubic metres of green waste per trip

  • No commercial vehicles or commercial green waste will be accepted.

Ratepayers who do not live on the Peninsula, but have a property in a bushfire permit zone may be able to apply for a travel permit to prepare their property for bushfire season prior to lockdown ending. To check if your property is in the eligible permit zone, please visit mornpen.vic.gov.au/travelpermit

If you find yourself regularly taking green waste to the tip, you can opt-in to receive a  240-litre fortnightly green waste bin collection if you live in the ‘urban area’ of the Shire. You can now put both garden and food waste in this bin.  Annual fee of $140 applies.

For more information about the ‘No Charge’ Green Waste event or to opt-in to receive a 240 litre fortnightly green waste bin collection service, phone 1300 850 600, 5950 1000 or visit mornpen.vic.gov.au/greenwaste
