There's still time to have your say on Sunnyside North

Sunnyside North Beach in Mount Eliza has been a clothing optional beach and popular with naturists since 1986. This little beach has sandy and rocky areas with calm waters and is the only nudist beach along Port Phillip Bay.

With on and off lockdowns and travel restrictions over the past two years, visitors of the naked kind dwindled and locals exploring their 5km radius rediscovered the beach.

With some locals now showing a renewed appreciation for the beach, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council wants to find out if the community would like to maintain the clothing optional status at Sunnyside North. We are asking nearby residents, the wider Mornington Peninsula community and all visitors to this beach: Would you like Sunnyside North Beach to remain a nudist beach?

Results from our survey will help Council with their deliberations about the ongoing status of the beach. The decision to remove the clothing optional status from Sunnyside North Beach rests with the State Government.

Community consultation closes 21 April.
