The gravel car park at Tassells Cove, Safety Beach will be upgraded to bitumen later this month. Defined parking spaces will improve traffic flow and accessibility at this popular dog friendly beach. New landscaping will beautify the area and protect existing native vegetation.

During construction, the car park will be closed to the public. For those keen to walk their dogs off leash on a beach, the closest leash free dog beach is at McCrae, near Anthony’s Nose.

Construction will begin Monday 15 July (weather permitting) and will be completed early Spring.

Quotes attributable to Seawinds Councillors Mayor Simon Brooks, Deputy Mayor Antonella Celi and Debra Mar:
“Formalising and improving Tassells Cove car park is one of the key outcomes of the Safety Beach Master Plan. We hope that losing access to this car park temporarily isn’t too much of an inconvenience to our residents. The construction works have been strategically planned for winter so your four-legged friends can enjoy a run and splash in the warmer months!”
