Step up to clean up in March!
Published on 13 February 2023
Clean Up Australia Day is creeping up on us and it’s time to start thinking about getting your crew together for Sunday 5 March.
Check out rubbish hotspots in your neighbourhood and challenge your friends and family to pop some gloves on and make 2023 the year to make an effort for the environment and our local wildlife.
Join your local clean up group on Sunday 5 March and get to work! It’s rewarding to volunteer – every little bit helps. Plus, getting out for a walk with others is great for your health – improve the health of the environment and yourself at the same time!
Find and join your nearest clean up at Clean Up Australia’s website. It’s free to participate.
Want to organise your own clean up group? Register via cleanupaustraliaday.org.au.
Sometimes we come across a whole lot of dumped rubbish. Report it via our website: mornpen.vic.gov.au/dobinadumper
Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Steve Holland:
“Clean Up Australia Day is a yearly event focusing on preventing litter and protecting our environment. It’s a meaningful way to play your part in keeping our beautiful Peninsula litter free and a great opportunity to get some fresh air and meet other locals.”
