It’s that time of year again – Clean Up Australia day is here!

Chances are you’ve spent time outside enjoying mother nature in the past 12 months – now it’s time to give her some TLC and tidy up harmful and ugly litter on our beaches, foreshores and parks.

Join your local clean up group on Sunday 7 March and get to work! It’s rewarding to volunteer, and you can stay for as long as your body will let you – every little bit helps.

Clean Up Australia day is a yearly event focusing on littering and protecting our environment. But don’t limit yourself to only cleaning up one day a year. You can join your local beach patrol group for their regular clean ups. If you’re out for a walk and see litter – pick it up and put it in a rubbish bin. Take three for the sea!

More information:
Find and join your nearest clean up at cleanupaustraliaday.org.au – it’s free to participate.

Sometimes we come across a whole lot of dumped rubbish. Report it via the Snap Send Solve app or on the Shire’s website.

Quote attributable to Mayor Councillor Despi O’Connor:
“It’s time to check out rubbish hotspots in your neighbourhood and challenge your friends and family to make 2021 the year to step up and clean up!

“Let’s all contribute where we can by joining a clean up and always make a habit of putting litter in rubbish bins.”
