On Monday 12 February, the St Kilda Football Club visited the peninsula and Frankston region as part of their 2018 AFL Community Camp.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor Bryan Payne said “these visits help develop stronger links between Australian Football and the community – recognising that grassroots football and the community are the lifeblood of Australia’s game”.

Red Hill Ward Councillor David Gill watched the team practice at The Peninsula School and talked to the players.

“It was great to see the football club paying a visit to the peninsula again.

“Visits such as this from professional football players helps encourage our community  and especially young people, to become more active and to see the social benefits of health and fitness.

“The Shire is committed to healthy and active lifestyles for all,” said Councillor Gill.

The football club utilised their time by visiting multiple local schools, sporting clubs and recreation facilities.
