The warmer weather comes with an inexplicable pull to unwind, relax and enjoy sun filled days and nights. This summer, you have the convenience of more than ten different activities to enjoy locally at The Briars.
 
All summer long, The Briars is home to family-friendly events that feed the soul. No matter your age, this is your opportunity to take part in the activities on offer.

WHAT’S ON AT THE BRIARS?

The Briars Wildlife Sanctuary early opening
Experience summer mornings with the sanctuary animals. Embrace the coolest time of day by going for an early morning walk in the Briars Wildlife Sanctuary. Open from 7am every day of the week from Monday 2 to Tuesday 31 January 2023.

Twenty Things to Do at The Briars
Explore nature, use all your senses, get moving and discover all the cool things you can do outdoors. Grab a copy of our ‘20 Things to Do at The Briars’ list from the Visitors Centre for some inspiration – choose one or many ideas to create your own adventure.

Briars Wildlife Sanctuary Scavenger Hunt
Take the Scavenger Hunt challenge by collecting a map and a list of clues from the Visitors Centre for the 2km Wetlands Walk or the 4km Woodlands Walk. Can you and your family find all the answers? Available every day of the 2022-23 summer school holidays and weekends, from 9.00am – 4.30pm.

Games on the Green
Challenge your family to a game of Giant Jenga, Connect Four or another of our fun free Games on the Green! Available every day during school holidays and on the weekend.Find out more.

Briars Junior Ranger – Who lives in my area?
Have you ever explored your backyard or local park to find out who lives there? Learn how to identify and classify what you find in your own backyard. Using your new Junior Ranger skills, we then play “Who Belongs Where?”, a custom-designed game for classifying reptiles, birds, mammals, amphibians, and invertebrates.Book your spot.

Suitable for kids 6 to 10 years old. Parents can take some time to relax as this program is for kids.

Snakes – face your fear, embrace your fascination!
Empower yourself, learn how to identify Australian snakes, what snakes you might see at the Briars and what snakes live in your neighbourhood.Find out more.

We prefer the night! Twilight trek and animal encounter
Join our Rangers as they take you off track on this hour-long exploration of the sanctuary at twilight. Bring a torch and help spot kangaroos, micro bats, koalas, emus, sugar gliders and more!Purchase your ticket.

Sunset Cinema

Our Survival Day
