Mornington Peninsula Shire is seeking community input on its Annual Budget 2019/20 to help guide the future direction of Shire-delivered community programs, projects and initiatives.

The Annual Budget also links to the achievement of the 2017-2021 Council Plan and its four key themes: Our Place, Our Connectivity, Our Prosperity and Our Wellbeing.

The 2017-2021 Council Plan can be downloaded from mornpen.vic.gov.au/councilplan or a hard copy can be obtained from Shire offices.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor Bryan Payne said I strongly encourage the community to tell us their ideas and priorities for the coming financial year as we develop our Draft Budget 2019/20.

“This is a great opportunity for residents, businesses and community groups to voice their future objectives and goals by contributing to the Annual Budget process.

“This is the first phase of the budget process. Community members will be able to provide their thoughts as the Budget is developed”.

Pre-budget submissions for consideration in the development of the Annual Budget 2019/20 close at 5pm Thursday 15 November 2018.

Ideas can be submitted online through the Shire’s website at mornpen.vic.gov.au/budget.

Everyone who makes a submission will receive an individual response regarding the outcome of their submission.

There will also be an opportunity to make a verbal presentation in support of submissions before a committee of council on Monday 26 November 2018.
