Mornington Peninsula Shire is reminding all cat and dog owners to ensure their pet registration is renewed by 10 April 2023.
You will be receiving your renewal notice shortly. Pet registration renewals can be done online, over the phone and in person.
Pet ownership is a rewarding and beneficial experience for people of all ages. With the many benefits to owning a dog or cat come responsibilities, including the requirement to register your dog and cat with your council.
The Domestic Animals Act 1994 requires all cats and dogs over the age of three months to be microchipped and registered with the Shire.
The Shire provides different services to support pet owners, funded directly from pet registration fees, such as:
Pet registration is different to your pet’s microchip. The Shire cannot change microchip details for you. If you need your pet’s microchip details updated head to Central Animal Records: car.com.au.
