Mornington Peninsula Shire to host ALGWA National Conference 2023
Published on 11 March 2022
In a week where we celebrated International Women’s Day, the Mornington Peninsula Shire is thrilled to announce it has been chosen to host the 2023 Australian Local Government Women’s Association (ALGWA) National Conference.
The announcement was made at the ALGWA National and Queensland state conference held in Airlie Beach on 1–3 March.
The Shire was already planning to host the 2023 Victorian conference and we are honoured to be now welcoming women from not only Victoria but all across Australia to our beautiful Peninsula.
The RACV at Cape Schanck will be the venue and accommodation centre for the conference taking place between 18–20 May 2023. The conference theme will be Connect, Inspire and Thrive. More details including key note speakers will be released over the coming months.
Founded in the early 1950s, ALGWA was established to assist in furthering knowledge and understanding of the function of local government and encourage women to participate in and make a career in local government.
