Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has appointed experienced Local Government CEO Kelvin Spiller to head the Shire whilst it undertakes the recruitment of a permanent Chief Executive.

Mr Spiller has over 35 years’ experience in the Business, Local Government and Community Sectors as Chief Executive and Board Member roles with a focus on strategy, governance and operational improvement.

Councillor Bryan Payne, Mayor of Mornington Peninsula Shire, said Council had voted on Monday evening to appoint Mr Spiller, who is well recognised within and outside the Local Government Industry as a skilled communicator and an accomplished leader of executive teams.

“Mr Spiller’s ability to lead and focus executive teams in Local Government has been well recognised by the Victorian Government who have appointed him to manage Councils including the City of Greater Geelong who were experiencing difficulties”.

Cr Payne said Mr Spiller would commence immediately.
