Mornington Peninsula Shire has partnered with Frankston City Council to seek tender submissions from local contractors to join a new panel for delivery of local minor civil works across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.
The panel will be responsible for civil works projects valued up to $500k such as:
• Road/car park construction
• Drainage construction
• Footpath construction (and other associated concrete works)
• Streetscape works
• Landscaping works
Minor civil works are low risk civil construction jobs with a short-term duration of less than six months.
Shire Mayor David Gill said the Shire delivers around 60 minor civil projects each year with an average cost $144,000 per project.
“This new approach will enhance the coordination and production of Minor Civil Works in turn improving efficiencies and value for money for our community.
“The external management will establish a long-term outlook for partnerships rather than selecting contractors on a project-to-project basis under a traditional method”, concluded Cr Gill.
It is anticipated this approach could achieve a 5-10% cost savings for the Shire.
Submissions can be made online until Tuesday 15 October 2019 at: tenderlink.com/mornpen
