On Wednesday 17 May we are flying the rainbow flag in recognition of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).
We stand in solidarity with our lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer/questioning and asexual (LGBTIQA+) residents, community friends, family, allies and colleagues.
A flag raising ceremony will be hosted at our Shire offices in Hastings, Mornington and Rosebud, from 10am. Everyone is welcome to join us on this special day. At Hastings, Councillor Lisa Dixon will be in attendance, with Councillor Despi O’Connor at Mornington and Councillors Sarah Race and Simon Brooks in Rosebud.
Morning tea will be served after the ceremony for all.

IDAHOBIT seeks to bring us into a world free from discrimination. Did you know that 35 per cent of LGBTIQA+ Australians have experienced verbal abuse in the past 12 months? Join us on 17 May to acknowledge this special day.
