Initial storm clean up complete
Published on 02 May 2022
The October storm left a trail of devastation across the Peninsula.
We dedicated every suitable resource to the clean-up effort, including additional subcontractors. Since October, we’ve worked through more than 3500 requests for assistance from the community.
The good news is, we have finished responding to all initial requests for assistance and are now attending to requests from January onwards.
With the completion of the initial response works ensuring a safe passage for all across the Peninsula, teams are now working through the final stage of response, with nearly 200 stump removal jobs scheduled.
With the thousands of cases actioned, there may be some we’ve missed. If you still need help or have questions about a request you have raised about the storm clean-up, we encourage you to contact customer service on 1300 850 600 for assistance.
Please note, the Shire cannot clean up private storm debris. If you need help removing your own green waste, you can book a kerbside collection with your tip vouchers by calling 5950 1406.

Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:
“The storm event last October was bigger than any of us anticipated, and the clean-up has been complex. We appreciate your patience as we know this took longer than expected, but please continue to report issues as they arise.”
