Improving Narambi Reserve
Published on 06 December 2021
The Narambi Reserve Master Plan will provide much needed new sporting facilities in Mornington. The project is part of a long-term development that will benefit the Mornington Junior Football Club, Mornington Cricket Club and Beleura Junior Football Club as well as the local community.
We were successful with an application to Sport and Recreation Victoria's Local Sports Infrastructure Fund - Female Friendly Facilities Fund for this project. As a result, we received $490,704 from the State Government and we're providing the remaining $2.3 million.
The first stage of the Narambi Reserve Master Plan has begun and will provide a new AFL and cricket oval, hard court playground, players shelters, coaches boxes, scoreboards and new fencing, lighting, paths and parking.
The new oval and facilities will help the clubs at the reserve continue to grow their participation especially in female membership for AFL and cricket.

Quote attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:
“The project will provide accessible and compliant amenities for all participants of the Mornington Junior Football Club, Mornington Cricket Club, Beleura Junior Football Club and the wider community.”
Quote attributable to Briars Ward Councillor Despi O’Connor:
“The current oval at Narambi Reserve is over capacity and has impacted the ability to grow female participation. The Master Plan will provide new inclusive, functional and accessible community facilities.”
