Help us shape the future of outdoor dining

Published on 12 August 2022

In 2021/22, Mornington Peninsula Shire ran an outdoor dining program aiming to support businesses as they recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The purpose was to increase activity in our shopping and dining precincts, increase local economy and boost our recovery on the Peninsula.
The feedback from traders and the community was overall very positive, while some expressed concern about the impact of the program on their businesses.
This year, the Shire is refining the program to support all traders to succeed and create vibrant, inspiring activity centres for our community and visitors to enjoy.
We are talking to traders and would also like to understand community views as well. Please share your thoughts to help us make better decisions for our outdoor dining program.

Community consultation is currently open and closes 5pm 29 August 2022.

“Our outdoor dining program was a big hit for many residents, businesses and visitors. We’d love to work with traders and the community to further refine the program.
