Mornington Peninsula Shire invites community minded people with lived experience of disability to join our Disability Advisory Committee (DAC).
Committee members are asked to give feedback on upcoming plans and projects the Shire is working on to make sure they are inclusive of people with disabilities.
Committee membership is made up of a majority of people with a disability, up to two carers or close family members of someone with a disability and up to two people from a community group or organisation with a demonstrated interest in supporting people with a disability.
There are also Shire officers and two Councillors who support the committee. Meetings are held monthly, currently online during COVID-19 restrictions.
Applicants must be willing to work with the other committee members on a range of access and inclusion initiatives.
Mornington Peninsula Shire would like to thank all current and past members of Disability Advisory Committee for their hard work and dedication to date.
Expressions of Interest must be received by Tuesday 9 March 2021.
If you are interested in becoming a DAC member please contact us. You will be asked to answer some questions to support your application and invited to attend an introductory workshop.
