Don’t miss out on providing your thoughts on Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Draft Somerville Township Structure Plan. Second round consultation closes soon: 5pm Friday 26 April 2019.

From Monday 29 April 2019, you will also be able to provide your thoughts on the Shire’s Draft Balnarring Township Structure Plan.

Both draft Plans identify land use, urban design and transport concepts seeking to boost the successful growth and enhancement of the township’s urban areas over the next 15 years.

The projects began in late September 2018 with visioning workshops held with the community and targeted stakeholder engagement to identify the vision and themes to help develop the Draft Somerville Township Structure Plan and the Draft Balnarring Township Structure Plan.

Community members are encouraged to join in and help shape our townships! Help us:

  • capture and enhance the attributes of Somerville and Balnarring that are most loved.
  • improve elements of the townships.
  • manage urban growth pressures within our townships in a way that is sustainable and protects our green wedge areas.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor and Red Hill Ward Councillor David Gill said “we encourage the community to provide us feedback on the concepts and ideas”.

Watson Ward Councillor Julie Morris said “we are determined to work closely with residents to establish a robust and strategic structure plan for the Somerville community”.

Following the public exhibition period, the feedback will be reviewed and where appropriate incorporated into the Plan.

Second round community consultation for the Draft Somerville Township Structure Plan is currently open and closes Friday 26 April 2019.

Second round community consultation for the Draft Balnarring Township Structure Plan opens Monday 29 April 2019 and closes Friday 7 June 2019.
