With events planned in eight townships around the Peninsula, there will be something for everyone to enjoy on Australia Day - Saturday 26 January.

From music to markets, fun runs to fireworks, BBQs to bowling, and from dawn to dusk, the Peninsula has something for the entire family to enjoy.

Live music and performances will include Indigenous Hip Hop Projects dance performances and free children’s activities at a number of local events, and feature artist Daryl Braithwaite will perform at Mornington Park.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Cr David Gill is looking forward to a great day with the community on this Australia Day.

“The Shire is proud to support the events held at Hastings, Mount Eliza, Mornington, Dromana, Rosebud, Rye and Sorrento.

“Don’t forget your local community groups are also running plenty of events around the Shire, so look out for those.

“A great deal of planning by volunteers and Shire officers ensures the community can enjoy local events and I thank everyone involved.

“I also would like to thank our emergency services in providing advice and assistance in ensuring these events are safe for all to enjoy” said Cr Gill.
