Garage Sale Trail, the multi-award winning sustainability and community campaign powered by local councils, is back again as a weekend long event from Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 October 2017.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor Bev Colomb welcomed the involvement of the Mornington Peninsula and the unique opportunity for the community to reuse in a fun and creative way through Garage Sale Trail.

Households, community groups, charities, local businesses and schools throughout the peninsula are set to join an estimated 350,000+ Australians as a part of the seventh annual national Garage Sale Trail.

Garage Sale Trail exists to create positive social and environmental change in communities across Australia.

“Mornington Peninsula Shire is proud to be sponsoring involvement in this national initiative for our residents. Reducing waste is a priority for the Shire and this is a fun and social way to bring awareness to the issue.

“Garage Sale Trail helps people to think about how we can all take responsibility for the waste we create and helps prevent items ending up in council collections or in landfill,” Councillor Colomb concluded.

Registration is free and open from 10 August 2017 at garagesaletrail.com.au.
