Council takes step to support the community to improve our facilities

Following a public exhibition period, at its Council Meeting on 11 December 2018, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council adopted its Community Capital Infrastructure Policy.

The policy is designed to provide guidance for community groups seeking to develop community projects and works undertaken on assets, facilities and buildings on land owned or managed by Council.

It will also be used as a strategic and procedural tool to assist and guide the application, assessment and implementation of all Community Capital Infrastructure projects and works.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor David Gill said community groups are the lifeblood and foundation of our local community.

“This adopted Policy will support and enable these groups in their ambitions to improve community facilities and infrastructure.

“It aims to simplify the process for community groups, individuals involved and the Shire in capital infrastructure projects”.
