The Mornington Peninsula Shire congratulates Bree-Anne Pagonis of Somerville for her success in the 2021 Victorian Young Achiever Awards.
Bree was the winner of the Luminary Tech Visionary Award for creating an accessible platform that enhances food experiences for women.
Bree co-founded WIRL, a social enterprise that helps women create time, energy and brain space by re-teaching them how to eat. The aim is for users to worry less about food, health and their bodies, and spend more time doing things they love. WIRL focuses on intuitive eating that has positive physical and mental health outcomes. As a social enterprise, a portion of sales go to The Hunger Project Australia, a not-for-profit committed to ending global hunger by 2030. Bree and partner Alicia Holmquest have a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Bree received her award at the Victorian Young Achiever Awards Gala Presentation which was held on Friday 16 April at the Grand Ballroom, Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Cr Despi O’Connor was in attendance to congratulate Bree on her success. Mayor O’Connor will present Bree with a Mayoral commendation at the May 19 Council meeting.
The Young Achiever Awards acknowledge, encourage and most importantly promote the positive achievements of all young people throughout Australia up to and including 29 years of age as of 31st December each year.
