Council Meetings reopened to the community

Mornington Peninsula Shire is pleased to announce community members will once again be able to attend Council Meetings and Planning Services Committee Meetings.
 
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020, the Shire temporarily changed its Council Meetings and Planning Services Committee Meetings to online only in April 2020.
 
Council Meetings and Planning Services Committee Meetings will now be held at the Peninsula Community Theatre in Mornington from 6.30pm.
 
The first Council Meeting open to the public is on Tuesday 9 February 2021. The first Planning Services Committee Meeting open to the public will be on Tuesday 9 March 2021.
 
Capacity for community members will be limited to approximately 50 people.
 
If you are attending a meeting, you are required to complete a symptom self-assessment prior to leaving home and not attend if you are unwell or have been instructed to isolate or quarantine.
 
Upon arrival to the meeting, you must:

  • check in via a QR code
  • stay 1.5 metres away from anyone not in your group
  • always wear a face mask or as directed by the Chief Health Officer
  • practice save personal hygiene measures  
  • minimise movement by staying within your allocated space or seat where practical.

Public questions for Council Meetings must be submitted online by 12pm the day prior to the meeting by visiting mornpen.vic.gov.au/publicquestions or emailing council.reports@mornpen.vic.gov.au.
