Mornington Peninsula Shire invites the Balnarring and surrounding community to join us in officially opening the new and improved community space at Civic Court Reserve in Balnarring.

The Shire, in conjunction with local member Mr Chris Brayne, is hosting a community planting day for everyone to get involved and leave your environmental mark on this beautiful reserve.

The event will be held on Saturday 27 April with the local Lions Club putting on a free community BBQ.

Shire Mayor and Red Hill Ward Councillor David Gill said everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the new features.

“Let’s all get together as a community and celebrate this fantastic new public space and contribute to planting of natives that will be part of the reserve well in to the future.

“I look forward to seeing the whole community, especially our local kids, enjoy this inclusive public space with family and friends for many years to come”.

Upgrade works include:

  • Performance and market space area
  • Natural swales to improve drainage
  • Nature-based play elements.

This $640,000 project, with State Government contribution of $290,000 through the Growing Suburbs Fund, $300,000 in matched funding from Mornington Peninsula Shire, and a $50,000 contribution from Bendigo Bank, will foster participation in healthy outdoor recreation activities and enhance community connections in Balnarring.
