Commemorating Remembrance Day 2018
Published on 12 November 2018
Hundreds of residents commemorated Remembrance Day on 11 November 2018 at eight local services throughout the Mornington Peninsula.
This year Remembrance Day also marked a Centenary of Armistice, being 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor Bryan Payne said Remembrance Day is an opportunity to acknowledge and show appreciation for servicemen and women who have contributed to our freedom today.
“We are proud to have supported the events hosted at Peninsula RSLs over the weekend and thank the countless number of residents who took the time to remember those who defended our country”.
Lest we forget.
