Mornington Peninsula Shire is progressing works to reconstruct Bay Road in Mount Martha due to a landslip that occurred in July 2021.

Traffic lights have now been installed to reopen a single lane of traffic for community use while works continue.

We are working hard to have both lanes open as soon as safely possible. We are hoping to achieve this by mid-September, but this depends on weather conditions.

We very much thank those who have been impacted by the traffic controls for your continuing patience.

Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:

"Thank you to everyone for your patience. We understand this took much longer than anticipated. Despite the significant delays, I look forward to the Shire completing these works and the full re-opening of Bay Road soon."
