Are you the next Mornington Library cafe tenant?

The lease for the Mornington Library café is open to new applicants. So if you can see yourself making coffee and cake for the Peninsula’s bookworms – feel free to throw your hat into the ring.

We are looking for expression of interests from local business and social enterprises.

Under our Commercial Tenancies Policy we must go out to tender whenever a licence expires. This is a fair and just process for our community and gives everyone a chance to have a go. The current tenant’s licence expired in 2020, however due to the pandemic it was left in overhold for two years.

Information session
Keen but have questions? Join us for an information session at the Mornington Library on Monday, 25 July from 2 - 3pm. RSVP to Procurement@mornpen.vic.gov.au

The expression of interest (EOI) process is open until 6 August. EOIs are non-binding.

Further information can be found at mornpen.vic.gov.au/librarycafe

Quote attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:
“Mornington Library is visited by around 650 people each week and is a popular spot with locals of all ages: You’ll be serving up babycinos for Storytime and lattes for book club!

“The café itself is simply laid out without a kitchen, but with food and drink fridges and a small food preparation area. It would be a perfect fit for a social enterprise or a local business. Everyone, including previous tenants are welcome to apply!”
