A novel library hub for Sorrento
Published on 15 June 2022
Southern Peninsula residents will be delighted with the installation of a new Library Hub at the Sorrento Community Centre. Having been a popular destination for library reservation pick-ups and drop-offs for years, the Sorrento Community Centre now houses its very own browsing collection.
Be inspired as you peruse the gardening, cooking and parenting resources, as well as the biographies, junior fiction, young-adult, picture books and some of the latest adult fiction from great authors.
Sorrento Community Centre is a short stroll from the popular shopping precinct and close to the skate park and netball courts.
It’s easy to duck in and grab a book on your lunch break, stop by after school or anytime you’re in the area. There’s plenty of car parking out the front.

Quote attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:
“Ensuring library resources are accessible to all community members, including those who may not be able to get to their nearest library is important. Library membership is free and everyone is welcome to join.
“I’m excited to see people of all ages benefit from this new initiative.”
Quote attributable to Nepean Ward Councillors Susan Bissinger and Sarah Race:
“During the pandemic, we noticed an increase in library loans being picked up from the Sorrento Community Centre and saw an opportunity to bring the library to our Southern Peninsula community.
“The Centre is a popular spot for residents with its many services and programs and the Library Hub will be a nice addition to the town.”
