Stage 3 "Stay at Home" restrictions will be reinstated across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire from 11:59pm on Wednesday 8 July. This includes the Mornington Peninsula.
A leachate storage tank (one megalitre storage capacity) has been erected at Rye Waste Disposal Centre.
The new tank consists of a steel walled open topped cylindrical tank with a flexible membrane liner and a leachate spillage catch drain beneath the tank. It has been fitted with a mechanical aeration system to reduce the ammonia and BOD levels of the leachate to the point where the leachate meets South East Water trade waste sewer discharge criteria. The tank was commissioned in June 2018 and will now be connected to a sewer for effluent disposal under a separate works package being managed by South East Water.
