Construction works have been completed at Emil Madsen Reserve and the facilities were handed back to the community for use in May 2018.  

 The goal of Emil Madsen Reserve Master Plan Stage 2 was to provide additional junior AFL, cricket and netball facilities for the growing township of Mount Eliza

The scope of works was as follows:

  • Construction of a new oval for AFL and cricket, including irrigation, drainage and lighting;
  • Construction of 3 new netball courts including lighting;
  • Upgrade of the Reserve’s power supply;
  • Lighting of two existing soccer pitches;
  • Construction of a large new asphalt car park; and
  • Landscaping of a designated cultural precinct.

The construction of two soccer pitches was completed as part of Stage 1 of works.

The project was jointly funded by the Victorian Government, Department of Environment, Land Water and Planning, Sports and Recreation Victoria, Mount Eliza Junior Football Club and the Shire.
