Dromana: Hillview Community Reserve Playground

Plan Cover.jpg
A new playground is being designed for Dromana’s Hillview Community Reserve.

The project is currently in the detailed design stage with funds being sourced for construction in future years.

The need for a playground at Hillview Community Reserve was part of Council’s Play Space Strategy 2015 - 2020 and aims to benefit the community through the provision of a high play value nature and adventure-based play space.

The design focuses on nature play, utilising natural materials like local stone and timber, encouraging climbing, jumping and running.

It features:
  • junior play area: play equipment such as a slide, climbing timber logs, talk tubes and spinners.
  • senior play area: challenging climbing and ninja type activity, informal ‘hangout’ areas with large boulder seating.
Other suggested improvements include:
  • roof shelter with two picnic tables overlooking the play area
  • concrete connecting path network
  • garden beds and tree planting.
