Flinders: Flinders Civic Hall Redevelopment
- Project typeBuildings
- Project value$6.1 Million
The Flinders Civic Hall is an integral part of the Flinders and surrounding communities and was due for an upgrade. Council successfully received State Government funding through the Growing Suburbs Fund which was matched by Council.
The facility includes an elevated stage, art space, meeting rooms and general community spaces for a variety of users. The inclusion of a Changing Places facility within the hall is also a fantastic outcome for the township, providing a suitable facility for users who cannot use standard accessible toilets. The final design reflects the community’s needs and requirements based on previous consultation and workshops involving the Shire, design consultants and current and potential future user groups.
A formal Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Tuesday 2 April.
