Personal watercraft on the Mornington Peninsula coastline
Mornington Peninsula Shire is looking to hear from residents about the use of personal watercraft (PWCs) along the Mornington Peninsula coastline.
A report was taken to Council on 24 July 2018 to advocate to Maritime Safety Victoria, Parks Victoria and Water Police Victoria for increased surveillance and enforcement of personal watercrafts, as well as a review of the existing boat/swim zones along the Mornington Peninsula Shire coastline.
Council will continue the conversation with Parks Victoria, Maritime Safety Victoria and other relevant authorities until a solution is found to provide a safer environment for water users and wildlife.
Shire is inviting the community to be part of the conversation about personal watercraft usage on the Peninsula. Local residents are encouraged to attend upcoming Forward Planning Committee Meetings to provide Council their views on this important matter.
