Have Your Say: Rye's new Moonah woodland reserve
Rye is set to get a brand new bushland reserve after Mornington Peninsula Shire purchased almost four hectares of valuable Coastal Moonah Woodland for the community.
The land, at 50 Flinders Street, is of high conservation value and home to more than 50 indigenous plant species and a diversity of birds, reptiles and mammals.
The Shire purchased the land late last year from the Department of Education.
Residents are encouraged to provide input that will guide future management at the reserve and have a say on what to name it when community consultation opens on 16 March 2020.
