The draft Neighbourhood Character Study seeks to identify and protect the unique and valued characteristics of residential areas across the Peninsula.
The draft Western Port Coastal Villages Strategy seeks to manage development on public and private land to retain and enhance township character and address climate change impacts relating to sea level rise.
These draft studies, underpinned by the adopted Housing and Settlement Strategy, will deliver on the Council’s commitment to improve and protect the unique characteristics of the Mornington Peninsula as set out in the Council Plan 2017-21.
You can see how these projects apply to your property by using our interactive webpage: MP Character.
Simply view the Character and Typologies Map and click on an area, or enter a property address. This will bring up a property report that explains which character area and design guidelines are proposed for your land.
