Dromana Residential Area: Road Safety Improvements

“Mornington Peninsula Shire Towards Zero – Safer Residential Areas project”

The Shire has committed $1 million in matched funding from the State’s Towards Zero program to improve road safety in residential areas identified as having high crash risk throughout the Shire.

High priority areas have been identified based on the number of casualties from crashes and community concerns that have been received.

The Dromana residential area surrounding the commercial centre is one of the Shire’s priority areas.

To develop the best types of road safety treatments the Shire encourages Dromana residents to have their say on the project.

Community sessions will be held at the Dromana Bay Life Saving Club to gather the community’s views on road safety.

The Safer Residential Areas project aims to improve the safety of vulnerable road users such as school children and the elderly, and will also consider all road users. Proposed road safety improvements may include:

  • traffic calming treatments,
  • pedestrian facilities,
  • roundabouts and
  • more appropriate speed limit setting.

There will not be a formal presentation, so just drop in any time, no RSVP required.
