Register Online 4 Year Old Kindergarten for 2015

Additional community kindergartens not operating in Council buildings can elect to be part of the central registration process.

There are a number of both three year old and four year old kindergarten programs offered across the Mornington Peninsula Shire; this includes community kindergartens operating in Council owned buildings, private providers and kindergarten programs offered in long day care and/or early learning centers.

In Victoria four year old kindergarten is not compulsory; however it is acknowledged that the kindergarten experience is valuable in providing children with the opportunity to learn and develop skills through a play based curriculum and can also assist children in their transition to primary school.

KINDERGARTEN CENTRAL REGISTRATION

(new process commencing 2014)

Kindergarten central registration is a streamlined and transparent application and allocation process that is fair and equitable for all families to support their access to community kindergarten programs across the Shire.

The registration period for both three and four year old kindergarten attendance opens between February and April of each year and families need to register their child in the year prior to attendance eg. Register in 2014 for kindergarten attendance in 2015.

Families who have registered their child/children under the previous system will have their registration automatically transferred to the new process and will not need to re-register their child/children.

For further information on Kindergarten Central Registration please contact the team on 1300 850 600 or via email at kindergarten@mornpen.vic.gov.au
