| Australia Day 2010 Local Awards | | Nominations are now being taken for the Local Australia Day Awards.
Categories are as follows (click to download Selection Criteria for each category):
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
These Awards are provided by the National Australia Day Council and are administered by Local Government Authorities throughout Australia on behalf of the Council.
Persons who have contributed to the local community during the current year and/or given service to the local community over a number of years shall be eligible.
Nominations must be for Australian Citizens.
Nomination forms are available for download at the bottom of this webpage.
Note: The selection Panel will not be conducting interviews with nominees. The selection panel will be basing their decisions solely on the information provided with this nomination.
Please ensure you have included and/or attached all relevant details for this nomination.

| Australia Day 2010 Local National Anthem Singing Competition | | Saturday 10th October 2009
The Australia Day Committee (Victoria) is looking for a young singer to be the official National Anthem Singer for the Australia Day 2010 celebrations in Victoria.
Shortlisted local people will be entered into this competition.
The winner will sing the Australian National Anthem at the Flag Raising
ceremony on Tuesday 26th January 2010 at the Melbourne Town Hall. He/she will be required to attend media interviews in the preceding weeks and should be prepared to sing if asked.
LOCAL COMPETITION
The Mornington Peninsula Shire is hosting a local National Anthem Singer Competition as part of the Australia Day Festival 2010. Entrants will be shortlisted for the Victorian State Competition. These finalists will sing at various flag raising ceremonies on Australia Day 2010 around the Mornington Peninsula.
Eligibility
To be eligible you must be twenty years or younger on the 26th January 2010 and reside on the Mornington Peninsula.
PREVIOUS FINALISTS WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER.
Individuals are to sing the first two verses of Advance Australia Fair unaccompanied and in traditional fashion.
Entry details:
Entries close 1st October 2009 and must include proof of age. 3MP will record the lucky finalists who will be entered into the Victorian Competition.
