Housing Policy
The Shire recognises that, to give effect to its own stated values local government, in partnership with local communities, other agencies and levels of government, it can play a role in enabling a range of more ‘Affordable, Appropriate and Available’ housing options to sustain our diverse communities. Particular consideration is given to vulnerable households.

The Triple A Housing Policy contains a housing profile of the Mornington Peninsula, policy statement, key objectives and identified actions.

Housing Developments for Older People
The aim of the policy is to facilitate the development of a coherent Council response to applications for housing developments for older people using criteria for good practice and relevant current legislation and regulations.

The Housing Developments for Older People - Good Practice Guide provides information to enable quality residential care applications by developers for the Peninsula linked to the relevant existing planning frameworks and legislation

The Applicant Assessment Form should be completed using the Good Practice Guide as a reference. The completed form should then be lodged with the appropriate planning application, the appropriate fee and any other relevant documentation to Council.
